In 2020, Novelis further strengthened Hindalco's position as the world’s leading FRP producer by acquiring Aleris Corporation, a global supplier of aluminium rolled products.

As the largest copper producer in India, Hindalco plays a significant role in meeting the nation’s demand for refined copper, and is also a primary supplier of copper to the Indian Railways. Its flagship copper facility at Dahej in, Gujarat comprises a world-class smelter, downstream facilities and a captive jetty. Birla Copper produces copper cathodes and continuous cast rods, as well as by-products such as gold, silver, and DAP fertilisers.
